| TCPS Students win 1st & 2nd Prize in Statewide Essay Contest |

The Board recognized Colin Elliott and Matthew Keeler for winning the PMJ Foundation's Annual Essay Contest. The contest was open to 5th and 6th grade students across the State of Maryland.
The foundation received hundreds of essays and awarded first prize, an Acer Netbook, to Colin Elliott and second prize, a digital camera, to Matthew Keeler. Colleen Szymanski, Chapel District Elementary 5th grade teacher,
encouraged the boys to enter the contest. Mrs. Szymanski stated, "It is fantastic to see our students recognized for their hard work!"

| Alpha Delta Kappa Donates $500 to TES Media Center |

The Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority (ADK), a professional organization of women educators in Talbot County, awarded $500 to the Tilghman Elementary Media Center. | Assistant Superintendent, Dr. Pam Heaston, Presents TCPS Master Plan Update |

TCPS Assistant Superintendent for Instruction, Dr. Pam Heaston, presented the 2011-12 TCPS Master Plan Update to the Board. This document is required by the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) and and must be updated and approved by MSDE every year. The Master Plan gives detailed documentation of TCPS goals and progress related to student achievement and teacher evaluations. The 2011 Master Plan update has been submitted to MSDE and will be posted to the TCPS website once it is approved. |
