TCPS Designates Parking Spots For Teacher and Support Staff of the Year

TCPS has designated reserved parking spots for Katie Fox, Teacher of the Year and Tonya Hayman Support Staff of the year with signage recognizing Hertrich as sponsor of the program. Mrs. Fox is a kindergarten teacher at Tilghman Elementary and Mrs. Hayman is an Instructional Assistant at Easton Middle

For many years, Talbot Teachers of the Year have been awarded new vehicles to drive for the year, which have been generously donated by Hertrich Chevy Buick GMC of Easton.  When Talbot County Public Schools added the Support Staff of the Year award for 2017-2018, Hertrich immediately came through with an additional vehicle for the recipient of the new award.

This is a “win-win,” a great convenience for Katie Fox, Teacher of the Year and Tonya Hayman the first TCPS Support Staff of the Year, and also an opportunity to celebrate the partnership commitment made by Hertrich.   As an added benefit for the winners, and in recognition of Hertrich's generous support, TCPS has designated reserved parking spots for both the Teacher of the Year and the Support Staff of the year with signage recognizing Hertrich as sponsor of the program.

“We are very happy to partner with the school system in this way,” said Pat Papineau, General Manager of Hertrich Chevy Buick GMC of Easton.  “These educators give so much of themselves to the students of Talbot County, we are honored to be able to give something back to them.”

Keep an eye out for the shiny new vehicles parked in front of Tilghman Elementary School, where Katie Fox teaches kindergarten, and Easton Middle School, where you will find Tonya Hayman wearing numerous hats in her role as an instructional assistant.
