Talbot County Public Schools is excited to announce that the process to select the 2019 Teacher of the Year and Support Staff of the Year has begun!  Is there a teacher or member of the TCPS support staff who is truly outstanding, has made a significant impact on your family, and/or goes above and beyond in their commitment as a professional?  The Teacher of the Year and Support Staff of the Year programs are a fantastic way to recognize educators who exemplify this year’s theme, #WeAreTCPS.

Any individual within the school system or any member of the community may nominate a candidate to apply to be Talbot’s Teacher of the Year or Support Staff of the Year. The nomination forms are linked below, may be found on the TCPS homepage (www.talbotschools.org), or are available in any school's main office.  Nominations for both Teacher of the Year and Support Staff of the Year are due by Friday, February 1st and finalists will be announced Friday, February 8th!

Coming Soon!

TCPS Transportation is happy to announce the addition of Here Comes the Bus®, mobile app and website!

Here Comes the Bus allows you to view the real-time location of your child’s school bus on your smartphone, tablet or computer. With it, you will have the information you need to send your children to the bus stop at just the right time, helping to protect them from inclement weather and other roadside dangers. What’s more, you’ll have peace of mind knowing your children haven’t missed the bus.  More details will be coming soon as our Transportation Team pilots the service.

FROG Classroom Learning Management Parent Portal (Coming at the end of January)!

Parents will have access to our FROG Learning Management System at the end of January! We are exited to roll out the parent portal and increase opportunities for parents to be engaged and involved in their child's education.

TCPS Has Student Interns Available!

Did you know that TCPS has a student internship program?  TCPS Work Based Learning provides students the opportunity to learn technical, academic and employability skills by working in a real work environment.  This can  prepare students for future careers and allow them to connect the material they are learning in the classroom with work. They gain relevant experience that will enhance their college and career resumes. Additionally, they have a chance to try out potential careers or explore new interests.

Through TCPS Work Based Learning, students collaborate with their work site supervisor to determine the types of tasks they will be completing. Our students have had opportunities such as shadowing medical professionals, driving a combine on a local farm, building houses with a contracting company and more. Students are also able to showcase their relevant skills, especially in the social media and technology realm.

If your business could benefit from a student intern, please contact Jodie Colombo, School-to-Career Facilitator at jcolombo(at)talbotschools.org or 410-490-4763.
