TRANSPORTATION OF NON-PUBLIC SCHOOL CHILDREN
I. Talbot County Public Schools will adhere to the following Maryland law governing the transportation of non-public school children; H.B. 699, Chapter 403, Sec. 501A, approved April 11, 1955, by the General Assembly.
“All children who are of public school age, who attend schools in Talbot County which do not receive State aid and who reside on or along or near to the public highways of Talbot County, on which there is now or hereafter operated a public school bus or conveyance provided by the Board of Education of Talbot County for transporting children to and from the public schools of Talbot County, shall receive, subject to the approval of the County Commissioners, transportation on such buses or conveyances; such transportation upon the approval of the County Commissioners, shall be provided for them by the Board of Education of Talbot County from a point on the said public highway nearest or most accessible to their respective homes to AND FROM the public school being served by such bus or buses. This transportation, subject to the approval of the County Commissioners, shall be provided by the Board of Education as aforesaid; for all the children attending public schools; provided that the County Commissioners of Talbot County make such provisions in their budget by appropriate tax levy as will be necessary to defray the cost of such transportation, which authority is hereby granted to said Commissioners so that they may, in their discretion, provide such transportation as is herein authorized."
"This Act shall take effect June 1, 1955."
