PROFESSIONAL AND SUPPORT STAFF LEAVES AND ABSENCES

POLICY STATEMENT

I. In order to establish definite and objective policies regarding employee absence and to comply with regulations of the State Board of Education and The Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993, the Superintendent is directed to establish procedures for the criteria adopted by the Talbot County Board of Education.

II. Professional and Support Staff Members shall be entitled to request leaves and absences as defined by Section B., General Board Policies and/or Section C., The Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993 (FMLA). All leaves requested or allowed for Workmen's Compensation, the Teachers' Negotiated Agreement, the Support Staff Negotiated Agreement, the TASA Memorandum of Understanding and the Administrative Regulation for this Policy (7.9-AR) shall be considered and used to meet all or part of the FMLA leave requirement(s).
