6th Graders Participate in a Recycling Presentation and Discussion

Mrs. Haas's 6th grade students at Easton Middle School are learning about the environment and the importance of recycling. They recently had a special presentation by Mr. Jon Southworth from Waste Management.  Students were able to ask question and discuss the recycling process. They learned about how long various materials take to break down, what materials make up our trash and how much of the organic waste we produce can be recovered to create fuel for vehicles and jets, compost for our homes and various chemicals that other manufacturers utilize.
