Over the past year, the 2nd Marine Air Wing Forward Headquarter Detachment has been stationed at Camp Leatherneck in Kandahar Province Afghanistan.  Easton High School has supported that unit.  Last year government classes and clubs purchased care packages to send to them.  This past Christmas, EHS homerooms, clubs, sports teams, classes, and individual students adopted all 44 Marines and sent them Christmas packages and cards.

As a token of their appreciation, the Marines in this unit flew a flag in Easton High School’s honor on December 24th, 2011.

This Unit returned to the States February 22, 2012.  In advance of their return they sent the flag they flew for Easton High School.  For the week of February 22nd, the American flag  in front of Easton High is the flag that the Marines flew over their base in Afghanistan.

Easton High School graduate Ryan Grimm, class of 2008, is a member of the  2nd Marine Air Wing Forward Headquarter Detachment.
