Service Learning

Service Learning Form

All students must complete 75 hours of service learning prior to May 15th of their Senior Year in high school.  Students are beginning to earn these hours as early as 3rd grade through community-oriented projects completed in school.  Starting in 6th grade, students can earn service learning hours in the community. 

Community-based service learning opportunities include:

St. Michaels Community Center/Thrift Store              Boy Scouts/Girl Scouts

Pickering Creek Audubon Center                                  4-H

YMCA                                                                                 Habitat for Humanity

Family Support Center                                                    School-based Tutoring

Public Libraries                                                                 Parks and Recreation

St. Michaels/Tilghman Volunteer Fire Depts.               Humane Society

Waterfowl Festival                                                            Talbot County Historical Society

Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum                               Phillips Wharf Environmental Center

Email Mr. Nick Werner before you start your project to make sure your service hours will be accepted.  Once you complete the activity, complete the Service Learning Form and turn it in to Mr. Werner.  If you need a Service Learning Form, download it HERE.
