Easton High School Update

The Easton High School Team, led by  Principal Kirk Howie,  gave a presentation on Equal Opportunity Schools Action for Equity, which included an overview on how Easton High is ensuring  that all students have the opportunity to succeed in challenging high school courses - and particularly that low income students and students of color have opportunities to succeed at the highest level.

Budget Update

Updated FY21 Budget information was presented to the Board.

Gifted and Talented Staffing

Assistant Superintendent Dr. Helga Einhorn updated the Board on Gifted and Talented staffing needs.

Public Recognition

Easton High's It's Academic Team

The Board recogniozed members of the Easton High School It's Academic Team. The team won the first televised competition this Fall and advanced to the second round!

New Business 


High School Assessment Policy 9.35~ First Reader

Assistant Superintendent for Instruction Dr. Helga Einhorn presented the First Reader of Policy 9.35 .


CTE Innovation Grant

Dr. Helga Einhorn informed the Board that TCPS has  submitted a proposal for the CTE Innovation Grant.  If awarded the grant, it would allow the addition of the Certified Nursing Assistant/ Geriatric Nursing Assistant (CNA/GNA) program in Fall 2021.


New Textbook Adoption Recommendation 

Assistant Superintndent Dr. Helga Einhorn presented the Algebra, Geometry and Algebra 2 textbook recommendations. She introduced the selection committee, and outlined the process for new textbook adoption. See slides linked below for details.

Mr. Bill Keswick, County Athletic Director, updated the Board on Policy 9.14 and the process of adding a new athetic program.


Easton and White Marsh Elementary Schools Redistricting Evaluation Committee Recommendation Update


FY 21 Budget Discussion & Approval ~ Ms. Hopkins

The Board discussed and approved the TCPS FY21 Budget. Board President Juanita Hopkins and Superintendent Kelly Griffith will present the FY21 Budget to the County Council on March 3, 2020.
