EVALUATION OF INSTRUCTIONAL PROGRAMS

I. The Board of Education expects that the Superintendent will establish appropriate means for

evaluation of the instructional program. Elements of this evaluation may include:

A. Testing programs, such as nationally standardized achievement tests, nationally standardized tests in specific subject areas, criterion referenced tests and tests administered by other agencies.

B. Study of student achievements and attitudes.

C. Review of graduate and dropout follow-up studies.

D. Utilization of out-of-system services; participation in regional research studies; contracted evaluation services. When evaluation services are at cost to the school system, they will be approved in advance by the Board.

E. Teacher and parent evaluation of pupil performance.

F. State Department of Education specialists and services.

G. Evaluation by regional accrediting associations.

H. Evaluation by other agencies.

II. An evaluation of the instructional program and its effectiveness will be made periodically

and reported to the Board of Education by the Superintendent.
