The Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum will present The Apprenticeship That Saved My Life: An Evening with Cory McCray on Thursday, April 30, at 5:30 p.m.

Cory V. McCray’s debut book, “The Apprenticeship That Saved My Life,” illuminates how mentorship, skilled trades, and second chances create powerful pathways to success for individuals and communities. Drawing on his journey from growing up in Baltimore to becoming a journeyman electrician and State Senator, McCray offers a practical guide for students exploring apprenticeships and businesses seeking to invest in talent.

Join us on Thursday, April 30, at 5:30 pm in the Van Lennep Auditorium or virtually during National Apprenticeship Week for an in-depth conversation on building stronger foundations for the next generation of workers and leaders, followed by a book signing. This event is generously sponsored by the Upper Shore Regional Folklife Center.

Superintendent's Update - April 16, 2026
Congratulations to Lauren Greer, Career and Technical Education Science teacher at St. Michaels Middle High, for being honored with the TCPS Education Foundation Teacher of the Month Award!

Lauren possesses a rare talent for "instructional architecture," but her contribution to our school goes much deeper. Whether she is leading PD to share her expertise with staff or guiding the next generation of professionals as the NTHS advisor, he is constantly investing in and strengthening our community. Students thrive under her care because she makes them feel safe and welcomed, turning her classroom into a space where they truly want to learn.

Thank you so much, Lauren, we are incredibly lucky to have you on our team!!!
